Hope Street is a leading specialist youth homelessness services in Victoria with over 40 years’ experience in delivering services to young people and young families in the West and North. 

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As our Youth Reconciliation Worker you will provide one-to-one counselling and support to young people so that they can establish and maintain constructive relationships with their family and broader support networks.

If you are an experienced Youth Counsellor or Social Worker, with a good understanding of the impact of youth homelessness, we would like to hear from you! 

In this role you will:

  • Utilise a solution focused, strengths based approach to provide short-term counselling and support services (maximum three months) to young clients
  • Have the opportunity to facilitate a range of fun and engaging workshops with young people
  • Facilitate presentations for staff on specific topics for learning and development

About you

  • You have a Bachelor Degree in either Social work, Counselling or Psychology.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • You have an understanding of youth homelessness and pride yourself on your ability to build relationships quickly with your client group
  • You enjoy strengthening the capacity for young people to live interdependently and supporting a young person to achieve self-reliance, stability and self-determination.
