ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a determined and highly motivated individual who can join the Program and Leadership team to deliver quality youth focused outcomes. As the Team Leader of the First Response Youth Support Service, you will be part of an exciting and innovative model designed to respond to youth homelessness via a place-based approach.

You will be proactive in leading two components of the service:

  • A mobile outreach service which is available 365 days per year including after hours
  • A youth refuge providing supported crisis accommodation

Reporting to the Program Manager you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a high functioning team (4 Case Managers) and the Crisis Accommodation team (6 Residential Youth Support Workers and 2 Case Managers)
  • Hold responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our purpose-built youth refuge and the mobile outreach service
  • Ensure compliance in all operational areas including service delivery, risk management and quality improvement for clients and staff
  • Establish a culture of service excellence where optimal outcomes for young people are achieved

ABOUT YOU

You will have:

  • A bachelor degree qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Family Therapy, Psychology, or similar
  • Good people management skills and ability to deliver effective client-centred services to young people in crisis within a case management framework
  • Strong relationship building skills which has seen you motivate a team and young people to achieve quality outcomes
  • Demonstrated understanding of trauma informed frameworks
  • Experience in team leadership, supervision of staff and program development
  • Highly developed communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, Case Management software and maintaining client data and reporting systems
