ABOUT HOMIE

HoMie is a streetwear clothing social enterprise that uses 100% of its profits to provide brand-new clothing, training and job opportunities to young people affected by homelessness or hardship.

Through our two social impact programs, The HoMie Pathway Alliance and VIP Shopping Days, HoMie supports young people affected by homelessness or hardship to equip them with skills, confidence and experiences to be more work ready and better prepared for their future.

This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced, youth focused start up environment with a positive work culture. We are a forward thinking, innovative organisation at an exciting point in our development. We are flexible and supportive, so if you have a great idea, we will do whatever we can to make it happen.

POSITION SUMMARY

The main role of the Programs Support Worker is to support young people affected by homelessness or hardship to achieve their employment and education goals through mentorship, facilitation and mediation. You will work closely with our interns during the 8 month retail internship and facilitate action plans between the young person, their employer and their key support worker from partnering organisations.

We work with young people from diverse backgrounds who are affected by homelessness or hardship. A successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate their experience in working and/or knowledge of driving social inclusion for Aboriginal or Torres strait islander communities and/or for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

The Programs Support Worker also has a co-ordination role to facilitate group activities and implement program strategy. This includes co-running workshops, taking groups on excursions and facilitating the completion of learning modules. The role requires a high level of organisation and planning, as well as confidence and leadership skills.

The Programs Support Worker will work on other Social Impact programs within the HoMie team. This includes the HoMie VIP Day, where you will support the Store Team to implement the VIP Day in store; where you will be supporting young people to shop for new clothing and provide a welcoming space to connect.
