The People team

The strategic, creative, self-starters in our growing People team are tasked with attracting, engaging and nurturing the socially-driven high performers who make up our HQ team (located in our beautiful, accessible Sydney office and remotely). Insights-led and data-driven, the People team are known for delivering best in class talent, support, career progression opportunities and people/experience programs to keep our HQ teams feeling engaged, supported and in a position to deliver great outcomes for our ever growing community of users across Australia. They are people-obsessed and passionate about stewarding an incredibly positive, innovative and collaborative culture, always keeping one step ahead of Hireup’s hyper-growth.

The role

With our continued growth, we are now looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to join our People team, and work as a true talent partner to our product, engineering and design leaders as we gear up for 2021 growth. Collaborating closely with the Talent Acquisition Lead, fellow Talent Acquisition Managers and the wider People team on all things talent related, this person will have an entrepreneurial spirit as well as a love and fascination for the ever evolving tech and product landscape. We’re looking for someone with a bias for quality over quantity and a natural flair for building meaningful relationships in the engineering, product and design community. They will also be someone who truly believes in the benefits of working with leaders in building highly diverse and inclusive teams and will be able to speak to ways they have brought this to life in previous roles.
In this role, we’d love to see you:

  • Deliver unforgettable candidate experiences whilst managing the full recruitment life-cycle in a way that makes sense to you and the product team, whilst delivering diverse, high performing and values aligned talent;
  • Deep dive into the Product team, unpacking their strengths and opportunities and use this to guide your approach to hiring and partnering with the Hiring Managers;
  • Advise the product team and coach them in building their capability in regards to networking, interviewing, hiring and sharing the Hireup story;
  • Collaborate with the Talent team and wider People team on people, talent and experience related initiatives to ensure we are building programs and experiences that meet the needs of our HQ team whilst having the ability to scale as the business moves from 230 HQ staff to 500 and beyond;
  • Support the Talent team in executing on the Talent Acquisition Strategy with areas of focus on diversity, capability driven recruitment, attraction and engagement and talent communities;
  • Develop new and innovative ways to unlock the candidate market and boost our employer branding initiatives; with a laser focus on the Australian tech and product community;
  • Think long game versus quick wins and nurture a solid candidate pipeline that attracts a diverse range of candidates that share our values and ambition of becoming world leaders in the accessibility space;
  • Leverage a variety of recruitment tools and channels (such as your own network, job boards, LinkedIn, internal databases, employee referrals and networking events) to attract new and interesting leads for both current and future roles.

As with any fast growing company, your priorities may evolve and change over time as we continue to scale. We’d love for you to start by focusing on the above areas however we’d also love you to utilise your skills and experiences to help us shape the future of this role.

The person

  • Over 5+ years demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end recruitment life-cycle in a fast-moving organisation - delivering high performing and values aligned engineering, product and/or design (UX/UI) candidates;
  • Communication and storytelling is your jam – you’re a natural leader and networker - someone who takes a personal and targeted approach to building relationships in the product and tech world;
  • You find people fascinating and love seeing those around you excel - you have a high EQ and have no troubles tackling a new challenge or testing out a new way of doing something - to you, building great teams isn’t just about getting people through the door, it’s about being a true partner to the business and your people team, remaining curious, pushing the status quo and asking the bold questions;
  • You’re interested and experienced in contributing to broader people projects/initiatives and are excited by the opportunity to contribute to the overall delivery of the people and culture strategy;
  • You thrive in the face of ambiguity and have a knack for communication and delivering meaningful outcomes without compromising on the quality of experience you are creating for candidates and team members alike;
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify roadblocks and develop creative and scalable solutions on the fly;
  • Connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community.
