For our team, it’s not only about creating the most elegant, intuitive, accessible and powerful peer-to-peer platform in Australia, but to ensure we are building an efficient and lean model that maximises choice and control for both Australians living with disability and their support workers. The team is passionate about solving complex problems and love being able to see the direct impact these solutions have for the thousands of people in Hireup’s rapidly growing community.

As a Senior Product Designer, your primary focus will be to define and deliver efficient, impactful design strategies and solutions that improve and enhance the customer-centric product that Hireup provides to our community.

The role

  • Working daily in research and design, with engineers and product managers, in a cross-functional product team
  • Often working in undefined, or complex problem areas and designing product solutions from beginning to end
  • Using design-thinking frameworks and toolkits, and a hypothesis-based approach
  • Designing holistic product experiences with big picture strategy in mind
  • Driving alignment via design facilitation (presenting to stakeholders, facilitating workshops, running ideation sessions)
  • Synthesising feedback and insights into a rich understanding of our users
  • Owning and influencing key metrics
  • Mentoring junior designers and onboarding other designers onto different initiatives

As with any fast growing company, your priorities may evolve over time as we continue to scale. We’d love for you to start by focusing on the above areas however we’d also love you to utilise your skills and experiences to help us shape the future of this role.

The person

  • Strong skills in prototyping and designing digital interfaces, across wireframes and high fidelity designs
  • Strong experience in user research, engaging with users to better understand their experiences, needs and intentions in product
  • Ability to think big whilst also being detail oriented
  • Organised and self-motivated
  • Tool agnostic mindset focused more on impact than deliverables
  • Exhibits empathy, adaptability, and an innate curiosity
  • You approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Strong connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
