about the role

Hireup’s Finance team works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure fiscal responsibility, strong financial governance, and accurate internal and external reporting. We are analytical problem-solvers and play an integral role in delivering a seamless Hireup experience to our community of users, whom we interact with on a daily basis. We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to be responsible for preparing the monthly reporting, assisting with technical accounting and the regulatory compliance activities of Hireup.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will deliver timely and accurate reporting while supporting a dynamic high growth reporting environment.

An ideal candidate will have a desire to drive process, compliance improvement and leave their own footprint on the future structure of company processes.

Priorities - The Work

  • Supporting a best-in-class reporting and control system by identifying and delivering improvements
  • Preparing the month-end financial reporting process including consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports
  • Examining financial records to check for accuracy
  • Assisting preparation of insightful management reporting to the executive leadership team
  • Monitoring working capital to assist with controlling expenditure and cash burn
  • Supporting the company audit process and preparation of year-end statutory accounts
  • Responsible for completion of compliance activities including Business Activity Statement (ATO), Withholding Tax (ATO), Fringe Benefit Tax (ATO), Payroll Tax (OSR)
  • Preparation of technical accounting analysis and recommendations
  • Drive a business partnering culture across the organisation for effective decision making.
  • Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly accrual
  • Maintaining and updating accounting and tax policies and procedures
  • Create an environment that fosters effectiveness, cooperation, motivation and professional growth

Skills - The Person

  • 3+ years experience with big 4 audit first time movers encouraged
  • Interest in statutory reporting with strong technical accounting skills and ability to interpret accounting and reporting requirements
  • A good understanding of and experience working with Netsuite is beneficial but not essential
  • A strong analytical mindset with a meticulous eye for detail, whilst still being able to see the longer strategic vision for the Company
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Professional experience in a similar industry or high growth company experience being advantageous
  • SOX ITGCs experience a bonus
  • CA or CPA qualified
