For our team, it’s not only about creating the most elegant, intuitive, accessible and powerful peer-to-peer platform in Australia, but to ensure we are building an efficient and lean model that maximises choice and control for both Australians living with disability and their support workers. The team is passionate about solving complex problems and love being able to see the direct impact these solutions have for the thousands of people in Hireup’s rapidly growing community.

With continued growth, we are now looking for a Business Analyst to join our Product team.

The role

  • Understanding the business requirements, constraints and opportunities for the stream of work, understanding internal stakeholders, documentation and modelling business processes
  • Gather, analyse and model data to identify problems and support decision making
  • Translating customer needs into functional requirements, helping engineers and designers understand all of this detail, including backlog management, user story writing and refining
  • Facilitating and leading workshops with designers, engineers and teams to develop solutions to these business requirements
  • Managing the detail of the product backlog and current stories, as well as the implications of products work on broader business processes
  • Working closely with the Product Manager to ensure the work of the product teams is meeting the broader business objectives

As with any fast growing company, your priorities may evolve over time as we continue to scale. We’d love for you to start by focusing on the above areas however we’d also love you to utilise your skills and experiences to help us shape the future of this role.

The person

  • Strong experience shipping high quality working software to end users in an Agile environment
  • Enjoy working in ambiguous situations and on complex new problems
  • You think and operate in terms of what's best for end users and strive to balance business, technical and design priorities with speed of delivery
  • Have excellent communication skills and are experienced in building relationships with internal stakeholders including engineers, product managers and designers
  • Are collaborative and enjoy working within fast-paced Agile product teams
  • Strong connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • You approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • You’re adaptable, transparent, passionate and demonstrate a deep curiosity
