About the company:

The Hessel Group is a well-established South Australian organisation offering a wide range of home-based support for both children and adults.

We have been in operation for over 20 years working with our local community and our highly valued staff to care for children and adults within various settings which includes the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).

About the role:

We are currently looking to employ a number of casual support workers to support our NDIS participants right across Adelaide.

As one of our valued staff members, you will support our participants to achieve their individual goals.

You will work with people who have varying abilities who may be living with developmental, psychological and physical disabilities.

The support we provide is where the participant resides and does vary depending on their requirements.

Tasks and activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily activities such as assisting with daily routines, participating in an activity of particular interest, going out for coffee or various other social activities
  • Support with transport for medical appointments, shopping and school pick up
  • Day to day personal tasks including personal care
  • Assistance with household tasks such as cleaning

All the above tasks play a vital role in enriching our participant's lives ensuring that they stay happy, healthy and safe whilst receiving their support.

About you:

For our team to consider your application, you must have the following:

  • Must be 18+ years of age
  • A resume detailing your relevant experience working within the caring industry, preferably with experience in disability support of either children or adults
  • A CURRENT DHS Working with Children’s Check
  • A CURRENT DHS Disability Clearance
  • A CURRENT First Aid Certificate
  • A CURRENT First Aid CPR certificate
  • A CURRENT Safe Environments for Children and Young People –“through their eyes” training

We would also prefer candidates to have:

  • A CURRENT driver’s licence and reliable car
  • A Certificate III in Individual Support or higher or be working towards the qualification

Should your application be shortlisted for an interview, you must:

  • Be prepared to undergo a Medical Report Form, which will be emailed to you
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and respect the highly confidential nature of your workplace
  • Demonstrate the confidence to work independently within a home-based setting
  • Demonstrate the ability to take direction
  • Demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated and resourceful
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate both verbally and written

Successful applicants will be required to:

  • Provide a Roadworthy Certificate for your vehicle used for work, as own cost.
  • Provide a copy of their current car insurance and registration details
