Help Disability Care is a division within HELP that provides a range of services providing individual and holistic support for people with disabilities. Our dedicated team of Support Workers provides individualised, person centred active support to adults living with disability.

As our services continue to expand, we are seeking a Coach (SLES) to join our team in delivering services around Capalaba. In this role you will provide support services to jobseekers and school leavers with a disability, to achieve their employment goals and social inclusion under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). You must be willing to work out of regular normal office hours and travel across HELP sites to deliver services as needed – the suitable candidate must be flexible with availability.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a positive and supportive environment for people with disability that facilitates growth and development, aimed to assist them in achieving their employment goals
  • Providing intensive, vocational support to improve the work readiness of young people who live with disability, delivering a service that enables them to achieve their employment goals
  • Liaise and negotiate with local business, employers, industry and other organisations on behalf of our clients, to job carve, or effectively refer them to suitable opportunities
  • Achieve business growth through community engagement, stakeholder relationships, and industry engagement
  • Facilitate group and individual activities, using a variety of educational styles including but not limited to classroom based modules, job readiness, creativity, volunteering and work experience 
  • Ensure efficiency and compliance with administrative processes driven by the policies and guidelines from NDIS

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • Tertiary or vocational qualifications in Disability Studies – will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to provide vocational support to jobseekers who live with disability
  • Knowledge and experience of current government funding arrangements in particular NDIS frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate individual and group activities
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Proven aptitude for reverse marketing, sales and/or cold calling 
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and use initiative whilst maintaining a confident risk management approach
  • Unrestricted Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle - essential
  • Current First Aid Certificate including CPR
