Fundraising & Events Coordinator

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated fundraising professional to contribute to the growth of HeartKids in the NSW and ACT region.

About the Role

This position will support HeartKids to deliver fundraising and community engagement initiatives across NSW and the ACT to achieve growth in both awareness and funding critical for the continued delivery of support programs for families impacted by congenital or childhood acquired heart disease (CHD).

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record of working within the not-for-profit sector with community fundraisers, individual donors, volunteers and corporate supporters.

You can work in a small team, have a strong attention to detail, are driven by results, and can deliver and execute at a local and national level.

You will be able to initiate, coordinate and administer local fundraising opportunities, deliver local events, help deliver national fundraising and awareness campaigns and achieve annual income targets and KPI's.

Experience with CRM systems and maintaining accurate records on supporter and donor activity a must have.

A full time position, however part time may also be considered.

Key Selection Criteria

  • 2+ years’ experience in fundraising and the not-for-profit sector
  • Formal qualifications in business, fundraising, marketing or communications, or related field
  • Strong working knowledge and proven experience in broad community fundraising, events and marketing with a track record of achieving revenue targets within the not-for-profit sector
  • Positive, can-do and inclusive attitude with a strong community focus - including an impartial and professional approach at all times
  • Ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with proven ability to establish and nurture relationships
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, and ability to work to deadlines with a high level of detail
  • Proven experience coordinating events and projects, including engagement of volunteers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while being part of a team
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations at events and to prospective partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, online fundraising platforms and CRM Database Systems
  • Must hold an open driver’s license, Working with Children Clearance, and Police Clearance
  • Demonstrate behaviours that uphold HeartKids culture and values
