This Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation delivers services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett. The Allied Health professionals work within a holistic whole-of-person model of compassionate care. A growing and dynamic organisation, this centre is expanding Allied Health operations that are based in an award-winning Health & Wellbeing Complex which has just undergone a $20 million expansion.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients and developing or following a treatment plan
  • Assessing home and work environments of clients and deciding what adjustments are needed
  • Advising on adaptive equipment to aid with activities of daily living
  • Developing physical rehabilitation programs to assist clients in regaining lost skills
  • Preparing clients for a return to work
  • Educating caregivers and family members of clients on patient care
  • Evaluating results and progression of occupational therapy on clients
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and technical progress in order to provide clients with the best evidence-based treatment program available
  • Complying with federal, state, and local certification requirements
  • Evaluating patient condition regarding physical and basic mental health
  • Maintaining client records within electronic clinical system
  • All other duties as required

You must also have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Current Driver's License
