Tell me about the role…

Sitting within the Finance department, the Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for the end to end payroll processing for headspace, including the weekly and fortnightly payruns, payroll reconciliation and reporting.

Working closely with team members from both Finance and Human Resources, the Senior Payroll Officer also performs broad finance and accounting duties whilst providing guidance and assistance to the Finance Officer for payroll related tasks. This role will also contribute to the rollout of the new TechnologyOne ERP system.

Who we are looking for…

You are an experienced payroll professional when it comes to running end to end payroll, ideally working or have experience working in a stand alone capacity.

You are comfortable interpreting employee conditions such as awards and/or enterprise agreements, in addition to a sound understanding of current legislation such as superannuation, termination calculations and long service leave. Using your advanced knowledge of excel, you are able to transpose and transfer data between systems to assist the organisation in high level decision making. Your experience as a payroll professional has also enabled you over time to develop an understanding of the interrelationships that exists within payroll processing and impacts on the general ledger and end user reporting.

With a focus on continuous improvement, and a strong attention to details, you will work collaboratively across the Finance and Human Resources functions. Whilst not essential to the role, a working knowledge of Technology One and/or Micropay Meridian, in addition to not for profit salary packaging would be advantageous.

The finer details….

In return we offer a flexible, dynamic and innovative environment where you have the opportunity to truly make a difference to young Australians.
