Tell me about the role…

The Senior Instructional Designer will design and develop clinical training packages for the headspace and wider youth mental health workforce. The focus of these packages will be on disaster recovery and supporting young people affected by Trauma. The work will include developing a new blended-learning instructional model; collaboration with subject matter experts and reference groups to assemble content; instructional design; course authoring in an eLearning authoring tool; commissioning the production of video resources for inclusion in training packages; deployment on the headspace learning management system (LMS) and potentially other organisations' LMS; and co-ordination of live training events as part of a blended solution.

Key deliverables of this role will be:

  • Develop and enhance the blended-learning instructional model used for headspace training packages, based on adult learning principles and effective use of learning technologies
  • Project manage the development of training packages including budgeting, scheduling, monitoring and delivering to quality, time and budget
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure content documentation is suitable for the development of training packages
  • Design high-quality training packages, consistent with adult learning principles and making use of interactivity and multimedia
  • Commission the development of multimedia resources (mainly video)
  • Author high-quality eLearning using an eLearning authoring tool
  • Author high-quality downloadable local learning activities
  • Collaborate with the relevant teams to launch the training
  • Contribute innovation, commitment, and collegiality to enable headspace to improve the lives of young people and their families

What we're looking for

headspace is seeking (Key Selection Criteria):

  • Qualifications and experience in instructional design, eLearning and blended learning for the workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to create high quality eLearning materials including analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation
  • Experience using eLearning design tools such as Captivate, Articulate or similar
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to critically analyse information
  • Experience in engaging and managing external suppliers
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong internal consulting, relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong alignment with the values of the organisation
