Tell me about the role

Sitting within the Finance department, the Payroll Officer is responsible for the end to end payroll processing for headspace, including weekly and fortnightly payruns, payroll reconciliation and reporting.

Working closely with Finance and HR, the Payroll Officer also performs broad finance and accounting duties whilst providing guidance and assistance to the team for payroll related tasks. This role will also contribute to the rollout of the new TechnologyOne ERP system.

What we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional with the ability to run end to end payroll who is comfortable interpreting employee conditions such as awards and/or enterprise agreements. You will have a sound understanding of current legislation such as superannuation, termination calculations and long service leave. Using your advanced knowledge of excel, you are able to transpose and transfer data between systems to assist the organisation in high level decision making. Your payroll experience has enabled you to develop an understanding of the interrelationships that exists within payroll processing and impacts on the general ledger and end user reporting.
With a focus on continuous improvement, and a strong attention to detail, you will work collaboratively across the Finance and HR functions. Whilst not essential to the role, a working knowledge of Technology One and/or Micropay Meridian, in addition to not for profit salary packaging would be advantageous.
