Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised, national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. headspace enables young people and their families to access information and support through a national network of centres and services, and drives community awareness and education about youth mental health, early intervention and help seeking.
headspace is seeking a National Family & Friends Clinical Advisor to develop and provide clinical guidance across headspace National regarding Family Inclusive practice including Family and Friend participation and to play a pivotal role in the design and development of a best practice Family Reference Group model. The National Family & Friends Clinical Advisor will ensure that headspace services are evidence based, underpinned by robust clinical governance, quality and safety principles, and are developed in collaboration with young people and their families and friends.
The successful incumbent will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant health discipline. You will possess considerable knowledge in Family Inclusive Practice, facilitating input of Family and Friends in service design and delivery in the context of youth mental health and will be adept in managing a range of stakeholder relationships. Your comprehensive understanding of the Australian mental health system, including current health/mental health policy issues, is underpinned by demonstrated experience leading projects and initiatives that support the continuous improvement of services via current clinical research and practices. Working across and within a dynamic, fast paced team, the successful incumbent will use highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to achieve broad strategic objectives whilst operating within a complex organisational structure.
