Established in 2006, headspace is a well-recognised, national not-for-profit organisation making a difference to the lives of young people aged 12-25 years. headspace has built a significant national network of headspace centres and a comprehensive suite of services and information to support the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians. Tell me about the role

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Strategy, Impact and Policy, the Head of Strategy will work closely with headspace divisions, the headspace Executive and the headspace Board to develop and drive high impact strategic agendas in the organisation.

The Head of Strategy will lead the development of strategy to position headspace to meet the challenges associated with the organisation’s growth and to ensure that service offerings provide holistic and integrated support for young people and their family and friends.

In this key role, you will lead the development of strategy to position headspace to make the strongest possible contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of young people across Australia.

What we’re looking for

headspace is seeking a senior strategy development professional, with a proven track record of leading organisations in the execution of strategic agendas.

You will be a highly professional and experienced individual, capable of facilitating strategy development at organisational and divisional levels, and distilling strategy into simple, easy-to-follow documents that galvanise commitment and drive action.

Exceptional leadership, presentation and relationship skills will ensure you engage effectively and develop strong stakeholder relationships with senior headspace leaders, staff and young people.

While not essential, experience in the Not for Profit, public health sector or strategy consultancy fields would be advantageous, as well as having an understanding of youth mental health issues, key mental health organisations and the mental health service system in Australia.
