About the role

This position promotes a positive, personalised and strengths-based approach to career development, job seeking and educational attainment.

  • Provide vocational assistance to young people facing barriers to work and study
  • Use strengths-based approaches to help young people reach their work and study goals
  • Work directly with a caseload of young people providing appointments via web chat, phone, email and video chat, delivering personalised work and study sessions based around a young person's goals and where they are on their work/study journey
  • Work within a small and collaborative team alongside mental health clinicians who work closely with Specialists to provide integrated clinical care
  • Deliver vocational interventions aimed at minimising the impact of mental health challenges on a young person's engagement with work and study, building resilience and enabling recovery
  • Collaborate with educational institutions, employment agencies and employers to assist young people with identifying opportunities
  • Work closely with referral partners, including headspace centres, to promote and drive service referrals and undertake care collaboration to ensure service participants receive the best support possible

Who we're looking for

  • Experience in providing work, study and career support to young people
  • A comprehensive understanding of the employment landscape, coupled with an ability to actively engage young people with complex needs
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Sustain collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders within the employment and education service system

To be eligible for this position you must
