About the role:

The role of the Residential Manager at The Glens isto work within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that care is delivered in a manner and style that fits within HammondCare’s model of care, by continually describing, interpreting and modelling the fundamental principles of our philosophy of care

This role is responsible and accountable for leading all aspects of the operation at The Glens. The Residential Manager will be expected to provide exceptional leadership to the staff and residents. In addition, there is a responsibility to promote independence and calmness within the resident community.

The role works within the philosophy of care and core values of HammondCare to ensure that the service is tailored to the needs of the individual residents and delivered in a style that aims to maximise resident satisfaction.

The essence of this role:

  • Lead, motivate and empower staff to deliver high quality, individualised care to our residents, in calm, supportive and safe environments.
  • Responsible and accountable for oversight of all aspects of clinical care provision, direction and performance of The Glens
  • Ensure the efficient operational and financial management of the home.

About you: (Selection Criteria)

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
  • Tertiary qualifications or working towards.
  • Significant practical experience in a management role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team and effectively work with other staff.
  • Experience managing a team of skilled professionals.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Takes action within level of responsibility allocated, and knows when to seek support, advice and escalation is required.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and patience.
  • Strong initiative, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Attitude of service.
  • Experience in aged care or allied health desirable, but not essential;
  • Working knowledge of ACFI and Residential Accreditation Standards is desirable.
