The Haymarket Foundation has supported people experiencing complex homelessness in Sydney for almost 45 years, and has delivered specialised AOD services for the past 30 years.  We strive to advocate and deliver multidisciplinary services for our community that are inclusive, safe, and offer freedom of choice.

We are currently seeking motivated and adaptable individuals to join our team as a Community Service Worker within our Alcohol and Other Drugs programs, helping to provide support across our Bourke Street Program and Waiting List Support Services.

Position Information:

Shifts are allocated on a casual basis. Our programs operate during business hours, Monday to Friday. The position reports to the departmental manager and will work closely with other AOD Case Managers and Counselling staff. The program is located in Woolloomooloo and has a salary and conditions to per Grade 3 of the SCHCADS Award (including applicable loadings).

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • A minimum qualification (Certificate 4) in AOD, community services or related field. 
  • Experience working with clients presenting with multi-morbidities.
  • A working knowledge of the issues faced by people who have experienced complex trauma and who currently identify as having substance dependencies.
  • A working understanding of trauma-informed care and strengths-based practice. 
  • Disclosure of any restrictions that impact upon your role as a practitioner. 
  • National criminal record check.
  • Demonstrated communication skills specifically in client and team rapport building. 
  • Proven ability to set clear professional boundaries.

Desirable

  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience working in residential settings.
