Havelock Housing Association has a fantastic opportunity for experienced Property Managers to join the Housing Team. These are key roles and central to the delivery of our core services. Havelock Housing Association is one of Canberra’s largest and most successful social housing providers. We offer affordable and accessible housing options for people on low incomes and people living with disabilities. Our expertise is in understanding the needs of people from diverse backgrounds and in providing enhanced tenancy support for people with high and complex needs, and people with a disability.

Key responsibilities:

This role has sole responsibility for the management of a property portfolio. This includes all aspects of tenancy management, rent reviews, routine inspections, client / stakeholder engagement, arrears management, maintenance and repairs management and as appropriate, the support and engagement of the tenants / residents in those properties.

The Property Manager is expected to develop a cohesive and professional working relationship with the tenants, their support structures, external stakeholders, and co-workers. All work performed will be delivered at a high standard that adheres to the organisation’s service guarantee and follows national principles on best practice.

Essential:

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, capacity for independent decision-making, and initiative to expand the portfolio, maintain tenant satisfaction rates, and minimise vacancies
  • Independently manage a portfolio of properties
  • Ability to contribute to the broader strategic aims and operations of the organisation
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • 3 to 5-years’ experience in property and/or tenancy management
  • Experience using property management information systems
  • Current ACT driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Recognised professional qualifications in property management / real estate
  • Membership of relevant professional industry association.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a Working with Vulnerable People Card (ACT)

The salary range will be aligned with Level 5 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. The pay point to be determined depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, as a registered Charity generous Salary Sacrificing benefits are available for Havelock Housing employees.
