Are you looking for a Director role in a small centre so you can lead, learn, and grow with the support of an experienced Leadership Team?

Hamilton’s Education & Care are recruiting on behalf of a leading not for profit organisation with a philosophy that centres on the community and a belief that building meaningful relationships is key to quality practice.

This small intimate centre is based in the leafy suburbs of Burwood and on the premises of the Head Office of the organisation and OOSH program.

We are seeking a leader who understands that relationships are the basis of quality, and who can lead a small team in the provision of early learning and care. A good understanding of how to engage with children who may be from vulnerable backgrounds would be a plus. This role is a Permanent Fulltime position working 40 hours per week and requires you to oversee the operations of the centre.

The Role

You will be responsible for the leadership, vision, and guidance of the daily operation of the program catering for 0-5 years. You will be a leader who is looking to grow and develop their leadership skills in this small centre role with the support of being within a larger community organisation. You will demonstrate skills in relationship building and development with families, children, and educators.

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Diploma Qualification in Early Childhood (approved by ACECQA)
  • Combined with experience having managed a team at Director or 2IC level for a minimum of 1 year
  • Current NESA Teacher Accreditation
  • Meet the requirements to be the appointed Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader and support the educators in the provision of a quality educational program
  • Understanding and knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standard, and requirements of the current Child Protection Acts & the Education & Care Services National Law & Regulations
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
  • Understand and be responsible for the performance of the centre and ensure compliance with National Quality Framework, and financial and reporting requirements
