About the Role

As a Behaviour Therapist, you will support children and families throughout their early intervention program by creating and implementing specific behaviour plans using the principles of Behaviour Analysis. You will also provide training and support in behaviour strategies and procedures to the team of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Early Childhood Educators and Teachers.

  • Work collaboratively to deliver best practice early intervention that assists children 2 – 6 years of age, maximising their cognitive and social capabilities.
  • Complete behavioural assessments including Functional Behaviour Assessments, and develop evidence-based therapy strategies and behaviour support plans.
  • Observe and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, and review against individual plans and set goals.
  • Contribute to the development of training programs and resources to staff, families, carers and the wider community.
  • Promote and embrace the Organisation’s values and mission, and comply with all policies and procedures.

Based on qualification and years of experience: Base Salary range from $63,000 to $86,000 + super + salary sacrifice

About You

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Psychology, Special Education or related discipline
  • A current driver’s license, Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate (or eligibility to apply and obtain)
  • Knowledge, experience and skills in applied behaviour analysis, including Functional Behaviour Assessments and Positive Behaviour Intervention Plans
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to establish meaningful relationships with young children, families and staff
