Goulburn Valley Centre Against Sexual Assault (GVCASA) is a program of GV Health and is one of 15 Centres Against Sexual Assault that operate throughout Victoria providing a range of services for those impacted by sexual assault.
The Crisis Care Advocate (after-hours) is responsible for the provision of on-call crisis care, which operates from 5pm-9am weekdays and 24/7 on public holidays and weekends. The Crisis Care Advocate provides face to face support to the client at the Crisis Care Unit located at Goulburn Valley Health, or the Shepparton Police Station. The aim of the role is to lessen the impact of the trauma of the sexual assault by empowering the victim/survivor through the provision of information and facilitation of choice and control over decisions and outcomes.
