About the team

Goulburn Valley Centre Against Sexual Assault (GVCASA) is a program of GV Health and is one of 15 Centres Against Sexual Assault that operate throughout Victoria providing a range of services for those impacted by sexual assault.

About the role

Are you a professional with experience working within a Trauma Informed Practice Framework?

GVCASA is offering a 0.6 (48 hours per fortnight) permanent part-time therapeutic counselling position to support our clients. You will be well supported locally by the Manager of Trauma Informed Services, and by the broader CASA network; with ongoing supervision and professional development available.

The main office is located in Shepparton, but services are provided across the West Hume region; applicants who live in Wallan, Seymour, Numurkah, Cobram, Shepparton and surrounds, are encouraged to apply, as we have outreach locations throughout the area.

We are looking for:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatric Registered Nurse, Counselling, or other relevant profession; with a minimum of 4 years’ experience supporting victim/survivors of sexual assault, and/or other forms or trauma or violence.
  • Demonstrated commitment to making a meaningful difference to those affected by sexual assault, excellent communication, decision making, advocacy & negotiation
  • Well-developed time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision
