Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative is a not for profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) providing culturally attuned, integrated health and community services in Warrnambool and regional South West Victoria.
The Koori Maternity Service (KMS) Nurse provides access to holistic, culturally appropriate care for Aboriginal women and their families during pregnancy. The objective of the KMS program is to improve pregnancy journeys through increasing access to, and participation in antenatal services and postnatal support and facilitates relationships between women and birthing hospitals.
This is a regional role supporting women and families, residing in Warrnambool, Portland, Heywood and Hamilton areas. Importantly, the role works closely with our Koori Maternal Services Worker and our Aboriginal Maternal and Child Health Cultural Support. Excitingly the KMS Nurse will also offer Maternal Child Health services to women and children residing in Warrnambool. Nurses Award 2010, Level 3, above award pay package.
