About the Role:

  • In collaboration with the CEO and the Executive team, the Clinical Manager leads and supports the multi-disciplinary team to deliver optimal results to vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers, teachers and children.
  • Attend management and staff meetings, reporting on the progress, challenges and KPIs for each project.
  • Identify and design new projects, based on research, surveys and empirical evidence, in close collaboration with the Executive team.
  • Collaborate with Grant Writer to articulate the needs, project development and budget so that timely applications and acquittals are expedited.
  • Collaborate with the Executive team on HR issues and new recruitment related to Clinical staff.
  • Oversee the trainers of all student placements and all research projects.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders and strategic partners to identify gaps, facilitate referrals and prevent duplication.
  • Provide input into the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work area.
  • Actively participate in professional development including continuing education opportunities provided through the organisation and regular clinical and cultural supervision.

What you bring:

  • Qualified Social Worker and registered member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Post graduate qualifications in management is highly desirable.
  • Cultural knowledge of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people would be desirable.
  • Formal qualifications in Supervision - Australian Psychology Board STAP qualifications or other supervision training program would be highly desirable.
  • Minimum five year’s relevant experience in the human services area (e.g. Psychoanalysis, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Counselling and Social work).
  • Extensive clinical leadership and senior management experience in welfare sector.
  • Passion to lead a committed team who are driven by profound healing.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience working with families impacted by trauma.
  • Demonstrated proficiency as supervisor of staff and students.
  • Capacity to prevent vicarious trauma among clinical staff.
  • Current Child Check, Police Check, driver’s licence and preparedness to travel intra- state where remote preschools are serviced.
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, computer literacy, time management, priority setting and negotiation.
