Communications and Marketing Manager

General Sir John Monash Foundation
  • 12-month maternity leave contract
  • Two years communications and marketing experience desired
  • Work creatively to boost brand awareness across Australia

Reporting to the CEO, the role is responsible for the strategic planning of stakeholder engagement, communications and marketing. This job is a terrific opportunity for someone looking to broaden their career experience and take accountability for a wide range of activities to build the brand for the General Sir John Monash Foundation, engage with our stakeholders (ranging from multi-national corporations to the scholars themselves), oversee the organisation of multiple events, implement targeted marketing campaigns and lead on all internal and external communications for the Foundation.

About you:

As we are a small team, you will need to be highly organised and happy to roll up your sleeves to ensure our communications and marketing are successful. You will be responsible for the work of our external agencies including graphic design and media partners, and you will be supported internally through the executive team and administration. Of course, an eye for detail and a passion for excellence is a must.

You will have at least two years’ experience in communications, stakeholder engagement or marketing, preferably with a degree in one of these disciplines. You will know your way around websites, developing communication collateral and organising stakeholder events, which in our case include boardroom lunches and conference presentations.

About us:

The General Sir John Monash Foundation’s purpose is to identify and nurture outstanding Scholars who are destined to be Australia's future leaders and who through their work will address major challenges facing our nation. To achieve this, the Foundation raises funds for and administers the John Monash Scholarships, which are provided to Scholars to enable them to study at a postgraduate level overseas. The Scholarships recognise academic excellence, leadership, and future contribution to Australia.

Our offices are located in a historic building in central Melbourne within easy walking distance from Flinders Street and Southern Cross Stations, as well as tram and bus services.
