The Greens NSW are looking for a dynamic and energetic Campaign Coordinator to assist the Grayndler Federal Election Campaign. This is a busy full-time role, running from February 2022 until one week after the Federal election (which could be held at any time between up until 21 May 2022). You will work very closely with the Greens candidate for Grayndler, Rachael Jacobs.

The Campaign Coordinator will be working with an active and successful grassroots campaign team. We have 5 local councillors and two state MPs, Jenny Leong (Newtown) and Jamie Parker (Balmain). In 2019, it was the Greens NSW highest vote in the House of Representatives.

The Grayndler Campaign is supported by four local Greens Groups – Port Jackson, Petersham-Newtown, Marrickville and Ashfield.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Developing and executing the campaign plan: Develop a campaign in conjunction with the Grayndler Campaign committee, Coordinating staff and volunteers to execute the campaign plan; providing rapid advice and recommendations when changes are needed to keep the campaign on track; providing advice and recommendations regarding budget requests.
  2. Liaise with the National Campaign Management Team (NCMT) andd GNSW FEC team on relevant aspects of the campaign including; briefings, announcements, advertising, training, and messaging
  3. Candidate schedule: Managing the candidate’s schedule in collaboration, organising logistical support at campaign events; researching and preparing issue briefs as required.
  4. Staff management: Managing field organisers (paid and volunteer) to develop and refine a field plan and support the team to succeed; providing oversight to ensure voter contact activities are of high quality.
  5. Work with the Grayndler Campaign Committee and in particular its treasurer, to manage the campaign budget and ensure full compliance with electoral legislation and GNSW processes
  6. Work with the Digital Campaigner and candidate on strategic and coordinated communications and social media
  7. Coordinate election day and polling booths; election night; provide a written evaluation of campaign activities; coordinate the post-election day pack-down activities including packing down any campaign offices.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  1. Interpersonal skills, communication and team management: You are great at coordinating people, can quickly build rapport and maintain strong relationships, including being diplomatic and assertive when required. You can demonstrate experience in managing and motivating volunteers and staff. You have experience in presenting training one2one and in groups
  2. Collaboration, multitasking, project delivery: You have a successful track record delivering outcomes within collaborative team settings, and can effectively coordinate multiple projects on time and within budget involving diverse stakeholders.
  3. Strategic thinking, risk management, self-starter: You have experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment, thinking quickly on your feet and solving problems as they arise. You are pro-active and can both manage your own workload with minimal supervision and take direction when required.
  4. Senior campaign experience: Ideally you have previously worked on an election campaign in a senior role either as a campaign manager or lead organiser. You can demonstrate successfully implementing campaign strategies for digital communications, field organising and data management.
  5. Political judgment, alignment with Greens values: You have sound political judgment, a thorough understanding of the Australian political system and political issues in the Inner West and a commitment to Greens policies and values.
  6. Demonstrated familiarity with electoral compliance requirements or experience working within a compliance framework.

Note: Successful candidates must not be a current member of another political party.

PAY AND CONDITIONS

Salary: $81,477.63 pro rata, plus 10.5% superannuation.

Primary Location: The Greens NSW state office, Glebe.

Hours: This is a Full time, 35 hour a week role

Status: Contract from 14 February to one week after the federal election (expected to be May 28)

Covered by: The Greens NSW Staff Collective Agreement.
