ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Digital Campaigner position is part of the Richmond Federal 2021/22 Campaign Team and will be responsible for designing and implementing social media and digital advertising strategies to elect Mandy Nolan to the House of Representatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Digital Campaigner will work closely with Campaign Co-ordinator and campaign team to implement the social media element of the campaign. Key responsibilities will include: 

  1. Develop a social media and digital advertising strategy in conjunction with the Campaign Team to develop the candidate’s profile and achieve campaign goals in the electorate.
  2. Coordinate content across all digital channels, ensuring it is on brand, strategic, timely and engaging
  3. Maintain a weekly posting schedule across digital channels, with the aims of brand awareness, building community and reaching persuadable communities.
  4. Ensure timely responses to messages and comments
  5. Coach and provide expertise to the candidate, campaign team and build and raise the candidate’s online profile and reach.
  6. Write and coordinate, original content that increases reach and/or engagement
  7. Use Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite to produce social media content, including Facebook squares and Insta posts.
  8. Other duties as directed 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

The Digital Campaigner must meet the following essential requirements:

  1. Extensive demonstrable knowledge of and experience with social media and digital advertising platforms.
  2. Professional level experience in implementing a substantive values-based social media campaign and achieving campaign goals.
  3. Demonstrated experience implementing an election, social justice, environment, and/ or community social media campaign.
  4. A commitment to The Greens and to advancing Greens policies and principles including an understanding of the Greens and support for the party’s principles, policies, and decision-making processes.
  5. Understanding of NSW and Australian political issues and the political system 
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  7. Excellent organisational skills in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  8. Demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem-solving skills and resilience.
  9. Extensive demonstrable knowledge of and experience with digital advertising platforms.
  10. Essential: A current Working with Children Check or be able to obtain one within first month.  

Note: Evening and weekend work will be required.

Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party. 

PAY AND CONDITIONS 

  • Salary range: $72,929.38 - $82,987.96 FTE p.a. + 10.5% superannuation. 
  • Primary Location: Flexible 
  • Hours: 3 days a week / 21 hrs
  • Status: Fixed Term, Part Time Contract until one week after the federal election.
  • Position begins: September 2021
  • Covered by: The Greens NSW Staff Collective Agreement.
