Remote / Work from Home
Greenpeace is a world-leading independent campaigning organisation using peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future. Our priority in the Australia Pacific region is tackling climate change.
Our team is a key part of the Fundraising and Technology department, and manages the organisation’s high value fundraising, by building close relationships with donors, bringing them closer to Greenpeace campaigns and strategies and collaborating closely to grow impact.
We are at a unique turning point in the race to stop catastrophic climate change. Our multi-million dollar annual fundraising target aims to match the ambition of our environmental campaigns.
The Philanthropy Coordinator is a crucial role focussed on both stewarding and expanding Greenpeace Australia Pacific’s (GPAP) group of major gifts donors.
The primary objective of the role is the advancement of all aspects of major donor prospect research, cultivation and conversion in support of Greenpeace’s ambitious organisational strategy. Prospects include major donors, trusts and foundations (non-corporate).
You will have daily interpersonal contact with supporters, prospects and others in the field and will provide high-level administrative support to the Philanthropy Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
You will work closely with other staff and volunteers who are also involved in building strong relationships with major supporters, including the Office of the Chief Executive Officer and Program Department.
The ideal person for this role has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, is a great organiser and has good judgement as well as a passion for Greenpeace’s campaign work. Experience with a CRM such as Salesforce, as well as copywriting and/or grant-writing experience, is highly desirable.
For more information read our Job Description (attached below).
Annual Salary $73,769.95 + 10% superannuation.
We welcome applicants Australia wide, with a preference for Sydney or Melbourne for the opportunity to join in-person staff workshops, meetings, get-togethers and creative confrontation activities.
Research shows that candidates from underrepresented groups (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, People of Colour, women, non-binary and gender diverse people, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people living with a disability) often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria – unlike majority candidates meeting significantly fewer requirements. We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re interested; we'd love to know how you can amplify our team with your unique experience!
To apply for this role please submit a CV (of no more than 3 pages) and a separate Cover Letter (of no more than 1 page) detailing your suitability for the role.
Note: Not all responsibilities and competencies listed in the Job Description need to be addressed; it is left to the discretion of the applicant which to focus on.
