Greenpeace Australia Pacific

THE ROLE:

We know you’re in high demand; you could work almost anywhere! But Australia is set to build its largest coal mine ever and open new oil frontiers in the Great Australian Bight, all whilst climate change rapidly escalates and our forests have been burning in front of our eyes. So come use your knowledge and skills for the planet, and work on a huge variety of exciting and creative projects, actions and events with us!

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting people to participate in campaign events whilst overseeing the Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP) warehouse, including all campaign-related items and equipment, and providing support and training for crew in the use of creative equipment, boats, vehicles, and climbing. You’ll be helping a movement of people take peaceful direct action to expose global environmental problems, and to force the solutions that are essential to a green and peaceful future!

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

As the Logistics Coordinator, you’ll need to be highly organised and have proven experience in logistics, warehouse management, or event management. We’re looking for someone who loves to be creative - you could have experience in anything from engine maintenance, to prop building and set design! Working with people is also key to the role, so you should also have great people management skills, and feel confident coordinating and leading others, including in complex and stressful situations.

You will also have:

  • Great planning and budget management skills;
  • Effective time management skills;
  • A current driver’s license is essential, and the ability to drive manual is highly desirable;
  • A current forklift licence, boat licence or other marine qualifications are highly regarded;
  • Knowledge of industrial safety management and WHS procedures is highly desirable, especially in relation to actions;
  • Experience in coordinating and/or delivering training programs, especially activist programs, creative workshops, climbing or boat operation is also highly desirable.

WHY GREENPEACE:

Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation which uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and to force the solutions which are essential to a green and peaceful future. We expose global environmental problems and force positive changes through research, lobbying and non-violent direct action.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • The independence and scope to experiment, innovate and advance the aims of the team;
  • The chance to use your skills for good, by supporting people across the country to take action for the planet;
  • A well resourced and supportive environment to learn and experiment in;
  • A great work-life balance including 35 hour work week, health allowance, integrity framework and generous leave conditions including parental leave;
