Philanthropy Manager (Head of High Value)

Greenpeace Australia Pacific

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.

THE TEAM

The High Value team is a four person team, managed by the Philanthropy Manager (Head of High Value). This team is responsible for building Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP)’s financial power by stewarding and expanding our high value gift programs. The primary goal of GPAP is to bring down the power of the fossil fuel order over our democracy and within our region to enable climate action at the necessary speed and scale; this team's job is to manage the high value donor programs that allow us to fulfil this goal.

As Greenpeace does not solicit or accept funds from corporations or governments, we rely on the support of individuals and private trusts and foundations for all the funds to carry out our environmental campaigns, and this team plays a crucial role in building this capacity.

THE ROLE

GPAP is looking for a Philanthropy Manager (Head of High Value) to join us until the end of March 2022, while one of our wonderful team members is away on parental leave.

The Philanthropy Manager (Head of High Value) is a pivotal role, responsible for managing and growing GPAP’s high value gift pipelines, including major gifts, trust and foundations and prospects, legacy (Gift in Will) donors and prospects, and a first year mid donor program. This role is accountable for high value fundraising targets and metrics, as well as budget-setting, and works closely with major gift donors, prospects and other networks.

This position collaborates extensively with the Program and Creative and Technology Departments to develop high-impact, fundable campaign products. You’ll also help us achieve our fundraising objectives by leveraging the profile and networks of the CEO, staff and board members, developing fundraising proposal submissions, and running events.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic fundraising expert with a strong strategic understanding of the Australian philanthropic environment and a passion for the high value space. You’ll be a terrific relationship builder, who is just as comfortable working with your colleagues across the Fundraising and wider GPAP teams, as you are interacting with major donors and prospects. The Philanthropy Manager (Head of High Value) should also be confident managing and assessing performance on high value projects and campaigns, and with meeting and tracking fundraising targets.

You’ll also have:

  • A high level of knowledge about the creation of donor journeys and moving donors through them;
  • Familiarity with Google suite (specifically Docs, Sheets and Slides), Excel, Salesforce and relationship and sales management platforms;
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship fundraising;
  • The ability to develop and write high quality fundraising proposals; and
  • The ability to prepare donor analysis and reports.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • The chance to join a brilliant fundraising team built on a culture of accountability, hard work, respect for one another and not only meeting fundraising goals but smashing them;
  • An excellent team culture throughout the organisation;
  • A great work-life balance including 35 hour work week, integrity framework and generous leave conditions;
  • Genuine flexible working conditions including remote work from home, and
  • A culture that celebrates inclusivity and diversity.

Salary $102,573.63 per annum + Superannuation
