Remote / Work from Home
Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.
The Creative Confrontation Unit leads Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP)'s iconic actions which use creativity and boldness to further campaigns and win on climate. We are a team of experienced activists that empower our volunteers and enrich our campaigns. The team is part of the Program department, which also includes our Campaigners, Communications experts, and Research and Investigations team. We work together to organise the strategic actions that supersize our campaign impact! Whether it's stopping a huge new coal mine, taking the fight for the Pacific to the world's biggest stages, or pushing huge corporations to go 100% renewable, you'll be working on campaigns that will make the world safer and more just.
The Creative Confrontation Assistant is responsible for creating an enriching experience for our volunteers in the new Greenpeace Online & Tech team, so they can grow, develop and deliver innovative, confrontational online tactics as part of campaigns. This role will work closely with the Head of Creative Confrontation and the Volunteer & Activist Coordinator.
You will play a key role in the planning, preparation, coordination and implementation of Creative and Confrontational online tactics which help achieve campaign goals and ultimately bring down the might of the fossil fuel order that is standing in the way of a sustainable future.
For more information about the role, please take a look at the Job Description.
This is a 6 month, fixed- term contract position.
We’re looking for an inspiring coordinator and innovator - someone with some experience coordinating volunteer groups and who is excited about online confrontational tactics that can deliver real world outcomes. You’ll be a quick thinker who’s up for learning and experimenting, with a motivated, excited, and enthusiastic approach to working with volunteers and delivering creative and confrontational tactics. This role is a great opportunity to learn more about strategic campaigning and be experimental with tactics.
You’ll also have:
Salary of $36,435.49 per annum + Superannuation, based on working 3 days/21 hours per week.
Research shows that candidates from underrepresented groups (Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Pacific peoples, People of Colour, women, non-binary and gender diverse people, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people living with a disability) often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria – unlike majority candidates meeting significantly fewer requirements. We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re interested; we'd love to know how you can amplify our team with your unique experience!
To apply for this role please click "Apply Now" and submit a CV (of no more than 3 pages) and a separate Cover Letter (of no more than 1 page) detailing your suitability for the role.
