Greenacre Area Community Centre (GACC) is a not-for-profit community organisation offering a range of services and programs to the local communities of Greenacre, Chullora, Mt Lewis, and the wider Canterbury Bankstown Local Government Area.
Whilst programs and services have evolved over the years in response to community needs and the availability of funding, GACC has retained its focus on providing community capacity building programs for the whole community, with a particular focus on children, young people, families, and people who are socially isolated or disadvantaged.
GACC has built strong local networks and collaborates with other agencies to increase community access to services.

The governing body of GACC is a volunteer Management Committee comprised of local residents who are professional workers with the requisite skills and a strong commitment to locally-based community services. The Management Committee is elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
Greenacre Area Community Centre provides a range of services and activities that address local issues and strengthen our community. We are a central access point for information, support and community engagement. We offer a safe, welcoming space for all, with a focus on expanding opportunities for people who are disadvantaged.
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the Playgroup Program team and ensure it exceeds the desired parental and children outcomes for local families.
The role involves the co-ordination and delivery of the weekly Supported Playgroup Program for children 0-5 years and their families. This includes developing proactive engagement strategies in collaboration with playgroup support staff and the centre’s Child & Family Counsellor/Caseworker.
The role has a face to face component as well as project administration and community engagement/networking. The Playgroup Co-ordinator is supported by playgroup support staff and volunteers.
You will be responsible for delivering a high quality Supported Playgroup which includes the provision of Evidence Based Programs (EBP) in line with our TEI funding, co-ordinating weekly creative and stimulating play opportunities for children and their families in line with the Early Childhood Development Framework in a supported, friendly and safe environment, with particular focus on early childhood development strategies to promote social skills, communication skills and parent/carer and child interaction.
You will participate in relevant networks to exchange information and enhance service delivery and referral pathways for playgroup families.
You will collect and analyse playgroup statistics to strengthen and enhance service provision.
You will provide statistical reports to the funding body under the DEX system.
