About us

headspace Tuggeranong is a new youth health service, with a focus on providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. We are seeking an energetic Community Engagement Officer to join our multidisciplinary team.

We welcome and encourage applications from people who have a lived experience of mental illness and recovery, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with diverse culture and linguistic backgrounds and people with disability.

About the position

This role is for you if you are passionate about contributing to improving youth mental health outcomes and want a role that:

  • Allows you to work with local community to increase community awareness of mental illness among young people
  • Facilitates consumer participation and supports you to organise and deliver health promotion activities and special events
  • Gives you the opportunity to be part of establishing a new youth health service

Based in our brand new office space at Tuggeranong, this is a full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2022.

Interested applicants will:

  • Be committed to delivering activities in partnership with headspace partner agencies
  • Be skilled in delivering evidence informed community engagement activities which increase community awareness and reduce barriers to care for young people
  • Possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences or education

headspace Tuggeranong is part of Grand Pacific Health’s Youth Mental health stream. GPH offers a great place to work with a commitment to flexibility, innovation and teamwork. There will be requirements to work outside of traditional business hours should you be interested.
