headspace Tuggeranong is a new youth health service, with a focus on providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

This role is for you if you:

  • Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the local Aboriginal communities.
  • Are a passionate and energetic person who wants to work in a supportive team.
  • Want a role that allows you to work with our local community to increase community awareness of mental illness among young people.
  • Want to facilitate consumer participation, organise and deliver health promotion activities and special events.
  • Want to be part of establishing a new youth health service.

headspace Tuggeranong are seeking an energetic Community Engagement Officer to join our multidisciplinary team.

Interested applicants will be:

  • Committed to delivering activities in partnership with headspace partner agencies.
  • Skilled in delivering evidence informed community engagement activities which increase community awareness and reduce barriers to care for young people.
  • Possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences or education.

In recognition of the number of young people in the South Canberra region who are Indigenous, this is an Aboriginal identified position, as authorised under the s42 of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT).

headspace Tuggeranong is part of Grand Pacific Health’s (GPH) Youth Mental Health stream. GPH offers a great place to work with a commitment to flexibility, innovation and teamwork. There will be requirements to work outside of traditional business hours should you be interested. This is a full time, fixed term position until 30 June 2022. Previous applicants need not apply.
