Waranara School Good Shepherd

Is a Special Assistant Independent school for students in year 7 to 12. Waranara is a small school catering for a maximum of 60 students. Students who attend Waranara are referred to us as mainstream school is not suited for them. A lot of the students experience mental health issues, complex trauma and have been school refusers. The school offers a small environment with wellbeing support that is strength based using trauma informed care. Students at Waranara are able to achieve their RoSA and HSC at Waranara.

About the role

  • Full Time, Fixed term
  • NSW Teachers Band 2 (plus super and salary packaging)
  • Waranara School, Marrickville
  • Teaching PDHPE, CAFS, SLR, Aboriginal Studies
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NSW PDHPE curriculum
  • Teaching years 9, 10, 11 and 12
  • A passion for teaching and supporting the wellbeing of students with mental health issues and trauma.

About you

  • Formal qualifications in PDHPE Teaching degree and equivalent demonstrated experience
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • A satisfactory International Police Check (if you have resided outside of Australia within the last 5 years)
  • A current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or state equivalent
