About the role

  • Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Working within The Orange Door (Area) the Senior Practitioner (secondary consultation) will work closely with professional referrers enabling them to confidently support clients experiencing family violence and/or child and family vulnerability ‘in place’. They will also support professionals to refer clients to The Orange Door where appropriate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building the capacity of professional refers to family violence and/or child and family vulnerability and to provide an initial response to clients, consistent with the MARAM.
  • Map key referral pathways into TOD and identify professional referrers who would benefit from additional education/support.
  • Providing sound judgement and authoritative advice on risks, priorities and accountability, and practice matters to the Hub Manager and relevant governance groups.
  • Using the Client Relationship Management System (CRM) for recording, analysis and review of client information.

About you

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related tertiary discipline is essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of referral and support options available to women and children who have experienced family violence, vulnerable families presenting with complex needs and perpetrators of family violence within the Bayside Peninsula region
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Best Interest Principles and the ability to undertake Best Interest Assessments of children
  • Knowledge of cultural safety requirements and ability to develop cultural safety action plans with clients when required
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • A satisfactory International Police Check (if you have resided outside of Australia within the last 5 years)
  • A current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or state equivalent
  • Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption
