About the role

  • SCHCADS Level 6
  • Full time, 6 month contract with possible potential for renewal
  • Latrobe St Melbourne location

The Research and Evaluation Consultant is a 6 month position to support the team to deliver on key evaluation projects for the Economic Wellbeing and Enterprises Division. The consultant will work with the Head of Research and Advisory to produce at least five quality evaluation reports by executing on evaluation plans, conducting quantitative and qualitative data gathering and analysis, writing evaluation reports, and presenting outcomes and recommendations. The Consultant will also support the team in undertaking additional research as required.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in humanities, social sciences or related areas.
  • Experience conducting evaluations. Previous consultancy work highly desired.
  • Proven analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to plan and conduct research, monitoring and evaluation activities and develop evidence-based advice.
  • Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, and demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong facilitation and interviewing experience. Capacity to work with individuals and groups across a range of backgrounds will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working in areas related to financial wellbeing, women/families, and/or safety and resilience will be highly regarded.
  • Project management and relationship management experience providing high-quality project delivery within resource and time constraints; experience providing professional consulting services to a range of stakeholders across multiple sectors, will be highly regarded.
  • The capacity and commitment to work in alignment with the values of Good Shepherd
  • A satisfactory National Police Check
  • A satisfactory International Police Check (if you have resided outside of Australia within the last 5 years)
  • A current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or state equivalent
