About the role

This position provides an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting Good Shepherd ANZ governance approach as well as supporting development of our next organisation-wide Strategic Plan. In this unique and dynamic position, the Company Secretary has a joint purpose: Develop a best practice structure for Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand’s (GSANZ) and Good Shepherd Services (GSS) Board governance; and support the CEO in relation to high level executive, secretariat and project services including providing strategic advice, managing communications, and implementing strategies to support the achievement of GSANZ Strategy.

About you

You will bring a practical, pragmatic and solution-focused mindset, combined with strong organisational skills, issues management expertise, and exceptional stakeholder management capabilities.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Degree qualification in relevant business studies (MBA/MPA) or relevant experience. Formal qualifications in Corporate Governance or the law is desirable, but not essential.
  • Company Secretarial experience including experience dealing with Boards of Directors and senior executives, ideally in the not-for-profit sector
  • Membership of the Governance Institute of Australia or equivalent is desirable
  • Broad and practical understanding of the regulatory environment as well as aspects of key legislation relating to Company Secretarial duties and corporate governance
  • Strong Project Management experience gained from leading and participating in major projects

You will need to provide evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption.
