About the role:

Good Sammy provides meaningful employment opportunities and pathways for people with disability in WA. In 2020, we're excited to be expanding our recycling social enterprises to provide even more employment and training opportunities! This is a fabulous opportunity to work in the recycling sector AND genuinely make a difference to the lives of others each day.

We have 2 Site Coordinator roles available in Canningvale and Wanneroo. You'll work closely with the Site Supervisor to support a small team in the day to day operations of this new recycling venture. This is a busy, fun and rewarding role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Site Manager to provide direct supervision and coordination of a small, busy team of customer service and processing assistants
  • Supervise the collection, counting and sorting of all eligible recycled containers
  • Ensure a highly efficient and enjoyable customer experience, supporting the retention and growth of our customer base
  • Resolve any arising issues quickly and successfully
  • Train and develop the team, promoting opportunities for personal growth, including for new starters and trainees
  • Ensure safety and quality in the day to day operations
  • Assist with the rostering and coordination of staff, including volunteers and trainees

Qualifications / Skills & Abilities:

  • 2+ years experience in a team leader or supervisor role
  • Experience working in warehousing / processing environment, with recycling or waste management experience highly regarded
  • Strong numerical skills - Point of Sale systems / cash handling
  • Excellent customer service and complaints resolution skills.
  • Applied training delivery skills, with experience training and mentoring people with diverse abilities highly regarded
  • Supportive, encouraging and motivating leadership style
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must be able to provide or obtain a Working with Children Card
  • Must hold a current WA C Class drivers licence
