Good Neighbors Australia is an international humanitarian and development organisation. We are a part of Good Neighbors International Partnership which is a global network of Good Neighbors entities working to advocate the rights of the most vulnerable in 44 nations. Good Neighbors has attained General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) in 1996.

In 2018, Good Neighbors Australia started its step in Sydney and has made milestones during the starting-up stage. Continuing to expand our presence in Australia, we are looking for a start-up minded and passionate individual who can lay out the way forward.

About the Role

We seek an enthusiastic Senior Fundraising Officer to help us achieve our vision and mission, its hands-on role is reporting directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for delivering fundraising campaigns across multiple-channels with a strong focus on the acquisition of new donors: implementing campaigns that are aimed at conversion to ultimately maximise return on investment and achieve sustainable revenue growth.

The key accountability for this role is to achieve individual and team revenue targets.

Success for the Senior Fundraising Officer will be measured by increasing the number and value of new and active regular donors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Create a fundraising strategy for the organisation and lead on its execution
  • Implement of fundraising campaign and events through core fundraising platforms, and
  • managing communications, content, and marketing material through its lifecycle
  • Recruit new donors to our existing regular giving project through new and existing channels

Criteria

As an experienced fundraiser, you know how to engage with donors and get people on board with a social cause and to take action in Australia. You like an adventure and ready to develop your career in a start-up like working environment. You are a self-motivated person who can work autonomously.

You’re able to be flexible and adaptable, you know how to build a bike while riding it. You are adaptable and comfortable with making decisions and working in situations of uncertainty. You love to collaborate with like-minded people across the globe.

You will need:

  • To have an understanding and appreciation of the role of Good Neighbors Australia in mission;
  • To have an understanding of the not-for-profit sector;
  • To have an understanding of fundraising principles and best practice, especially in regular giving;
  • To have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team;
  • To have a proven experience achieving income targets and managing expenses;
  • To hold a strong experience and track record in managing and executing successful fundraising campaigns viewed favourably;
  • To hold at least 5 years of experience in fundraising, with demonstrated success in engaging with individual donors for fundraising in not-for-profit organisations;

At present, this is a full-time contract position based in North Strathfield, with potential to negotiate working hours and duration for the right candidate. Only those with unrestricted work rights in Australia can be considered.
