We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Lead in a fast-paced, profit for purpose startup. In this role you will lead the sales team in gathering, uniting and empowering organisations to use Good Empire to create and measure their social and environmental impact. More than just a piece of CSR software, Good Empire is a movement. A global impact platform to help organisations engage their teams, customers and community in the things they truly care about. You’ll be galvanised by our mission to gather, unite and empower an empire of good humans - 100 million individuals and organisations - to help create a more abundant, equitable and sustainable world. You’ll get to lead the strategy and sales pipeline but also be expected to get stuck in and put your strategy into action by doing the work. You’ll be taking sales calls, building relationships and creating partnerships with organisations all over the world to help them measure their impact aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. You’ll be a person that is super organised, and you’ll be meticulous in understanding a customer's needs and finding solutions to meet them, delivering on them and measuring the impact. You’ll know that measuring the impact and digging into the data is important, not just for sales but for impact in the world, whether it be helping people or planet.

This role is for a passionate Business Development Lead who cares about people and planet and wants to use their skills to gather a community of good humans and organisations to help save the f**king world.

We’re not looking for a formally crafted intro letter that was copy and pasted, showing attention to detail by being SURE to check you edited our name, before smartly and professionally listing your skills and experience, with just the right touch of personality, nor are we quite yet needing to know where you studied or what your hobbies are. Though we can’t wait to learn all of these things, as they no doubt have in some way shaped the person you are.

We don’t particularly want to hear that you work well autonomously but also in teams, though both are important to us and hopefully to you. We don’t want to know that perfectionism is your greatest weakness. We’d like you to feel that you can be more vulnerable than that.

What we’d really like to know is what drives you.

  • What are you drawn to?
  • What do you want to change in the world?

If you don’t know, that’s okay, but it matters to us that you at least care that you don’t know. Maybe we can figure it out together.

THE KINDS OF THINGS THAT WILL EXCITE US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • You are really organised and you can lead and manage the entire sales process end-to-end.
  • You’ve probably worked in tech or for a SaaS product before so you really understand the power of technology to create change.
  • You’re a solutions focused sales leader who is always looking to find ways to solve for customers needs.
  • Sales pipeline management comes really easily to you and you’ve used CRMs before like Hubspot to manage relationships.
  • You’re comfortable bringing on a new client, right through to getting them live on the platform and measuring the impact in their social and environmental goals while continuing to find new solutions for them.
  • You love people and building meaningful relationships and you believe that serving people and helping them create real impact in the world is important.
  • You’re an awesome communicator in all mediums, face to face, over Zoom and in writing, you have the ability to create connection and build trust through your communication skills.
  • Your ability to manage many, many relationships at once, without people feeling unseen, unheard, let down or forgotten
  • You love a startup environment that’s fast-paced and exciting, where everyday might be a little bit different and where the organisations you work with come in all shapes, sizes and from all corners of the world.
  • You’ll enjoy creating case studies and content that supports your business development efforts. You know that creating resources for organisations builds trust and understanding of the product.
  • You’ll enjoy measuring the impact of the work you do and reporting back to the business and to clients about the impact.
