Global Village School (GVS) is a recently established charity that has a mission to establish an inclusive secondary school. There are currently 6 directors and a committee of 6 volunteers who are working towards achieving this. Our organisation strives to create a restorative, diverse and values-driven staff culture where all employees and volunteers feel safe, respected and trusted.
In Term 1 2021, GVS is running a program called ‘Future Fit’ for approximately 30 Year 6 students from a range of primary schools in Coburg. The program will run full-time for two weeks. It aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of GVS’s education model for various stakeholders, including parents considering enrolling their child in GVS’s future secondary school, primary schools, the Department of Education and Training, and philanthropic and other educational partners. It will also serve as action research for our organisation to refine its school design. The focus of the program will be on the development of digital literacy - students will gather and compile stories and data relating to the learning-from-home experience and make their predictions on the future of education, culminating in a digital storytelling exhibition.
Program Dates: Required, from 22 March – 1 April (9 days total)
Planning and Administration: Flexible, from 1 December to 15 April (5 days total)
CRT Daily rate $383.13 (paid weekly during the program) for a total of 14 days
