The Gateway LLEN is one of 31 LLENs in Victoria. We are funded by the Department of Education & Training and work to support young people in their journey across school and into further education, training and employment. Through the Gateway LLEN we look to build innovative and sustainable relationships between school and industry within our local community.

We require a person to to join our Structured Workplace Learning team who has demonstrated skills and experience to increase access to appropriate SWL & SBAT placements for secondary students undertaking VET as part of their senior studies. The applicant will demonstrate outstanding communication and time management skills along with the ability to reconcile industry and school needs.

Industry placements will be developed that recognise the needs of young people within the geographical boundaries of Gateway LLEN and should foster a strategic approach to supporting the learning and development of this cohort.​

The Structured Workplace Learning Officer will be required to fulfill the following objectives by providing a wide variety of outcomes on behalf of Gateway LLEN, including, but not limited to:

  • Work with a wide variety of industry and secondary providers within the Gateway region to secure and manage relevant and appropriate workplace learning opportunities that are aligned to VET and SBAT workplace outcomes
  • Coordinate forums, professional development and other events for a wide variety of stakeholders including students, schools, industry, youth service providers and various other stakeholders
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to identify and implement new initiatives in priority areas as identified in the Gateway LLEN SWL Strategic Plan
  • Attend, contribute and where appropriate coordinate, meetings and networks that support the strategic goals of Gateway LLEN
