This is an exciting time to join GGV, as it embarks on a process of significant change and transformation under a new CEO and leadership team.

The Events Support Officer will provide leadership to all state-run events, build stakeholder relationships and engagement, while ensuring that strong governance and compliance procedures are met for the duty of care for our staff, volunteers, and girl members.

This role is an integral part of our Communications Team and will work to ensure that our volunteer community is assisted in providing the best events across our state.

About you:

You will be be skilled in working autonomously and focused on delivering event management in a timely manner. This role would suit someone with previous experience of customer service excellence, attention to detail, event management and effective relationship management skills.

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

  • Tertiary degree of associate diploma and/or 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • High level of Customer Service skills, to analyse and problem solve customer needs; seek to understand their perspective and ensure that the customer’s expectations are met, or offer an alternative solution
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own work in support of achieving the team’s priorities, whilst being adaptable to change in contingency
  • Attention to detail to execute activities in the context of quality and risk management and identify opportunities for process, system and structural improvement,
  • Ability to work autonomously and part of a team, to support colleagues, foster a positive and collaborative environment; actively contribute to achieving team results and support team decisions
  • Self-management skills to maintain a high level of performance when facing pressure and uncertainty; able to remain calm and self-controlled, and to respond logically and decisively in difficult situations

An understanding of Girl Guides, working for a for purpose organisation with a large number of volunteers, is preferred however, not essential.
