An exciting opportunity exists to join Glenelg Hopkins CMA in the position of People & Culture Advisor. This 12-month parental leave position is being offered with bases in Hamilton/Warrnambool, Victoria, or remotely. This part-time position is being offered at 0.6-0.8 FTE.

The Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority (CMA) was established in 1997 to effectively and efficiently deliver land, water and biodiversity programs that protect and enhance landscapes as well as support thriving communities.

About the role

The People and Culture (P&C) Advisor sits within the Corporate Services team and partners the program areas to enable and deliver effective strategies and programs relating to;

  • Human Resources Management (HRM)
  • Wellbeing, Health & Safety (WHS); and
  • Culture and Change programs.

The position is a key provider of authoritative advice and services to Executive and Managers on all facets of human resources management and proactively participates in and contributes to the Corporate Services leadership team.

The purpose of this position is to provide operational and strategic support within all facets of human resources, and to be the first point of contact for employees and external parties regarding employment matters.

About You

The successful applicant will hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management (HRM), Organisational Development or Business Management and a thorough understanding of the political, legal and social environment.

This role requires well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and experience in providing thorough advice and guidance on all facets of wellbeing, health and safety matters.

The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience in HRM and WHS strategies, policies and programs as well as experience with interpretation, application and negotiation of Enterprise Agreements.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current Working with Children Check (can be obtained prior to appointment)
  • Must be able to work in line with the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions
  • Completion of a pre-employment medical declaration and/or independent physical assessment (if required).
