GetUp is looking for a digitally savvy Senior Campaigner who will use their strong communication skills to drive impact on a broad range of issues.

SCHADS classification Level 5-6 with salary range $80,751.84 - 92,245.40 per annum + superannuation determined by relevant experience and qualifications.

This is a permanent position based in Sydney.

Who is the Campaigns Team

GetUp is full of talented campaigners who lead the organisation’s efforts to create a more progressive Australia. The campaigns team prides itself on deep strategic thinking as well as the ability to seize crucial change moments that make a massive difference on our issues.

Their days are filled with analysing the political state of play, developing long-term and rapid-fire strategy, engaging with politicians, media and affected communities, spotting the right moment to intervene, running impactful tactics including everything from protests to undercover investigations, writing hard-hitting copy, and coming up with creative ways to give our members the best chance for impact.

As a Senior Campaigner at GetUp, you will be responsible for:

• Drafting campaign strategy in accordance with team goals and organisational strategy;
• Writing and reviewing high quality campaign content across all GetUp channels;
• Monitoring the latest news and recommending appropriate courses of action;
• Leading on campaign research, planning and evaluation;
• Leading on team processes and forward planning;
• Representing GetUp in the community and media;
• Supporting engagement with key stakeholders, including political offices;
• Leading from within campaigns teams to execute campaigns and meet their goals;
• Supervising other staff and/or volunteers as required.

You will be someone who:

• Has a deeply held commitment to justice who is passionate about creating progressive change on a wide range of issues;
• Has strong digital skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment;
• Has strong written communication skills, adept at thinking through complex issues and communicating them simply and clearly;
• Works independently on a range of tasks and projects and takes initiative doing whatever it takes to get the job done;
• Is a team player who is always bringing off-the-wall, creative ideas to the table; and
• Has at least two years professional experience.

• Experience in GetUp-style online campaigning;
• Experience copywriting in any context;
• Experience collecting and analysing metrics and data;
• Experience in digital acquisitions;
• Experience working in the media cycle.
