about us

The National Centre for Childhood Grief (NCCG) is dedicated to providing the best possible care for bereaved children and their families. The NCCG provides a safe, nurturing place where grieving families can receive the support and understanding they need as they learn to cope with their grief, and gradually rebuild their lives. The Centre was established in 1994 by founders Mal and Dianne McKissock.

The NCCG is a not-for-profit that operates from ‘A Friend’s Place’, their dedicated bereavement care centre in Denistone East, Sydney. The NCCG provides free and unlimited grief counselling for bereaved children aged 3 -18 years. They provide grief counselling to recently bereaved adults on a fee-for-service basis. The centre also provides education and training for individuals, schools and other organisations handling the grief of children and young people.

about the role

Reporting to the Clinical Director, and working closely with the Board, you will build and deliver the organisation’s aspirational fundraising strategy across multiple channels including corporate partnerships, philanthropic trusts and foundations and major gifts.

This hands-on role will connect hearts and minds of donors through meaningful engagement and personal interactions. You will develop strong, diverse and sustainable fundraising pipelines, relationships and partnerships and secure financial support from new and existing supporters. Funding will be directed to programs and services that make a positive impact on children and families dealing with the trauma of grief.

This newly created role will build a successful, holistic and integrated fundraising program. You will add practical knowledge of fundraising databases and methodologies to create best practice fundraising systems to enable thriving impact and outcomes.

About YOU

  • You are a self-motivated individual who takes initiative and has strong problem-solving, influencing and communication skills
  • Exceptional relationship skills to build strong relationships with donors, philanthropic foundations, corporate and community partners, alumni, families and volunteers
  • A compelling storyteller to engage the hearts and minds of donors along the philanthropic journey, along with the confidence to make the ‘Ask’
  • Compassion, care and commitment to authentically represent NCCG and children/families impacted by the death of a loved one
  • Proven track record in achieving fundraising targets in the NFP sector
  • Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Australia plus understanding of the systems that underpin best-practice fundraising
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, CFRE or membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia is highly regarded.

APPLY NOW if you are a passionate, self-motivated fundraiser who wants to create deep and meaningful impact on children and families in the community.
