Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. SVA influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.

Partnerships are key to ensuring the future sustainability and growth of SVA through developing trusted relationships and networks with funders. Reporting to the Executive Director, Ventures and Partnerships, you will lead and drive the fundraising strategy to increase and sustain significant investment from HNW individuals/families, philanthropic trusts and foundations and corporate partners. Leading a small team, this pivotal role will achieve income and impact through prospect research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, along with streamlined systems and processes to underpin best practice and high performance.

You will be a collaborative, authentic and solution-focused people leader with proven success in securing transformational gifts and multi-year pledges for complex and innovative projects, both directly making ‘the ask’, and through leveraging the capability of others. Excellent communication skills to confidently present opportunities with detailed research, data, evidence and professional proposals is essential, together with compelling story-telling to effectively connect heads and hearts of decision makers to secure investment.

Commercial acumen, commitment to continuous improvement, people management skills and a growth mindset is required. This role calls for current knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Australia, deep networks in NSW and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, plus strong alignment to SVA’s values of accountability, integrity, respect and humility. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Fundraising or Social Impact is desirable.
